Ecclesiastes 7:16-18
Do not be overrighteous,
neither be overwise—
why destroy yourself? Do not be overwicked,
and do not be a fool—
why die before your time? It is good to grasp the one
and not let go of the other.
Whoever fears God will avoid all extremes. (Ecclesiastes 7:16-18 NIV)

Luke 8:25
And He said to them, [Why are you so fearful?] Where is your
faith (your trust, your confidence in Me--in My veracity and My integrity)? And they
were seized with alarm and profound and reverent dread, and they marveled, saying to one another, Who then is
this, that He commands even wind and sea, and they obey Him? (Luke 8:25 AMP)

1 John 1:8-10
If we say we have no sin [refusing to admit that we are
sinners], we delude and lead ourselves astray, and the Truth
[which the Gospel presents] is not in us [does not dwell in our hearts]. If we [freely] admit that we have sinned and confess our sins, He is faithful and just (true to His own nature and
promises) and will forgive our sins [dismiss our lawlessness] and [continuously]
cleanse us from all unrighteousness [everything not in conformity to His will in
purpose, thought, and action]. If we say (claim) we have not sinned, we contradict His Word and make Him out to be false and a liar, and His Word is not in us [the divine message of the Gospel is not in our hearts]. (1 John 1:8-10 AMP)

The Lord takes pleasure in those who reverently and worshipfully fear Him, in those who hope in His mercy and loving-kindness. (AMP)
Psalm 51:17
My sacrifice [the sacrifice acceptable] to God is a broken
spirit; a broken and a contrite heart [broken down with sorrow for sin and humbly
and thoroughly penitent], such, O God, You will not despise. (AMP)
