Ecclesiastes 7:1-4

A good name is better than fine perfume, and the day of death better than the day of birth. It is better to go to a house of mourning than to go to a house of feasting, for death is the destiny of every man; the living should take this to heart. Sorrow is better than laughter, because a sad face is good for the heart. The heart of the wise is in the house of mourning, but the heart of fools is in the house of pleasure.

Psalm 138:1,7-8

I will praise You, O Lord, with all my heart; before the "gods" I will sing Your praise. Though I walk in the midst of trouble, You preserve my life; You stretch out Your hand against the anger of my foes, with Your right hand You save me. The Lord will fulfill His purpose for me; Your love, O Lord, endures forever - do not abandon the works of Your hands.

Psalm 30:1-5

I will exalt You, O Lord, for You lifted me out of the depths and did not let my enemies gloat over me. O Lord my God, I called to You for help and You healed me. O Lord, You brought me up from the grave; You spared me from going down into the pit. Sing to the Lord you saints of His; praise His holy name. For His anger lasts only a moment, but His favor lasts a lifetime; weeping may remain for a night, but rejoicing comes in the morning.

Daniel 4:3

How great are His signs, how mighty His wonders! His kingdom is an eternal kingdom; His dominion endures from generation to generation.

Psalm 127:2

In vain you rise early and stay up late, toiling for food to eat - for He grants sleep to those He loves.

Psalm 6:1-2,9

O Lord, do not rebuke me in Your anger or discipline me in Your wrath. Be merciful to me, O Lord, for I am faint; O Lord, heal me, for my bones are in agony. The Lord has heard my cry for mercy; the Lord accepts my prayer.

Psalms 5:11-12

But let all who take refuge in You be glad; let them ever sing for joy. Spread Your protection over them, that those who love Your name may rejoice in You. For surely, O Lord, You bless the righteous; You surround them with Your favor as with a shield.
