Judges 3:7-9

The Israelites did evil in the L ord ’s sight. They forgot about the L ord  their God, and they served the images of Baal and the Asherah poles.  Then the L ord  burned with anger against Israel, and he turned them over to King Cushan-rishathaim of Aram-naharaim.  And the Israelites served Cushan-rishathaim for eight years. But when the people of Israel cried out to the L ord  for help, the L ord  raised up a rescuer to save them. His name was Othniel, the son of Caleb’s younger brother, Kenaz. (Judges 3:7-9 NLT)

Judges 3:1, 2, 4

These are the nations that the L ord  left in the land to test those Israelites who had not experienced the wars of Canaan.  He did this to teach warfare to generations of Israelites who had no experience in battle.  These people were left to test the Israelites—to see whether they would obey the commands the L ord  had given to their ancestors through Moses. (Judges 3:1, 2, 4 NLT)

Galatians 5:16-23

So I say, let the Holy Spirit guide your lives. Then you won’t be doing what your sinful nature craves.  The sinful nature wants to do evil, which is just the opposite of what the Spirit wants. And the Spirit gives us desires that are the opposite of what the sinful nature desires. These two forces are constantly fighting each other, so you are not free to carry out your good intentions.  But when you are directed by the Spirit, you are not under obligation to the law of Moses. When you follow the desires of your sinful nature, the results are very clear: sexual immorality, impurity, lustful pleasures,  idolatry, sorcery, hostility, quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, dissension, division,  envy, drunkenness, wild parties, and other sins like these. Let me tell you again, as I have before, that anyone living that sort of life will not inherit the Kingdom of God. But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,  gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things! (Galatians 5:16-23 NLT)

Joel2:25-27

The L ord  says, “I will give you back what you lost to the swarming locusts, the hopping locusts, the stripping locusts, and the cutting locusts. It was I who sent this great destroying army against you. Once again you will have all the food you want, and you will praise the L ord  your God, who does these miracles for you. Never again will my people be disgraced. Then you will know that I am among my people Israel, that I am the L ord  your God, and there is no other. Never again will my people be disgraced. (Joel 2:25-27 NLT)

Isaiah 44:21, 22

“Pay attention, O Jacob, for you are my servant, O Israel. I, the L ord , made you, and I will not forget you. I have swept away your sins like a cloud. I have scattered your offenses like the morning mist. Oh, return to me, for I have paid the price to set you free.” (Isaiah 44:21, 22 NLT)

Proverbs 4:14-16, 18, 20-23, 26

Don’t do as the wicked do, and don’t follow the path of evildoers. Don’t even think about it; don’t go that way. Turn away and keep moving. For evil people can’t sleep until they’ve done their evil deed for the day. They can’t rest until they’ve caused someone to stumble. The way of the righteous is like the first gleam of dawn, which shines ever brighter until the full light of day. My child, pay attention to what I say. Listen carefully to my words. Don’t lose sight of them. Let them penetrate deep into your heart, for they bring life to those who find them, and healing to their whole body. Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life. Mark out a straight path for your feet; stay on the safe path. (Proverbs 4:14-16, 18, 20-23, 26 NLT)

Proverbs 3:7, 8, 13, 14, 16, 17

Don’t be impressed with your own wisdom. Instead, fear the L ord  and turn away from evil. Then you will have healing for your body and strength for your bones. Joyful is the person who finds wisdom, the one who gains understanding. For wisdom is more profitable than silver, and her wages are better than gold. She offers you long life in her right hand, and riches and honor in her left. She will guide you down delightful paths; all her ways are satisfying. (Proverbs 3:7, 8, 13, 14, 16, 17 NLT)

John 6:5, 9-13

Jesus soon saw a huge crowd of people coming to look for him. Turning to Philip, he asked,  “Where can we buy bread to feed all these people?”    “There’s a young boy here with five barley loaves and two fish. But what good is that with this huge crowd?” “Tell everyone to sit down,”  Jesus said. So they all sat down on the grassy slopes. (The men alone numbered about 5,000.)  Then Jesus took the loaves, gave thanks to God, and distributed them to the people. Afterward he did the same with the fish. And they all ate as much as they wanted.  After everyone was full, Jesus told his disciples,  “Now gather the leftovers, so that nothing is wasted.”    So they picked up the pieces and filled twelve baskets with scraps left by the people who had eaten from the five barley loaves. (John 6:5, 9-13 NLT)

Job 23:10-15

“But he knows where I am going. And when he tests me, I will come out as pure as gold. For I have stayed on God’s paths; I have followed his ways and not turned aside. I have not departed from his commands, but have treasured his words more than daily food. But once he has made his decision, who can change his mind? Whatever he wants to do, he does. So he will do to me whatever he has planned. He controls my destiny. No wonder I am so terrified in his presence. When I think of it, terror grips me. (Job 23:10-15 NLT)

John 15:9, 10

“I have loved you even as the Father has loved me. Remain in my love.    When you obey my commandments, you remain in my love, just as I obey my Father’s commandments and remain in his love. (John 15:9, 10 NLT)

Psalms 145:1, 3, 5, 8, 9, 18-20

I will exalt you, my God and King, and praise your name forever and ever. Great is the L ord ! He is most worthy of praise! No one can measure his greatness. I will meditate  on your majestic, glorious splendor and your wonderful miracles. The L ord  is merciful and compassionate, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love. The L ord  is good to everyone. He showers compassion on all his creation. The L ord  is close to all who call on him, yes, to all who call on him in truth. He grants the desires of those who fear him; he hears their cries for help and rescues them. The L ord  protects all those who love him, but he destroys the wicked. (Psalms 145:1, 3, 5, 8, 9, 18-20 NLT)

Psalms 144:11-15

Save me! Rescue me from the power of my enemies. Their mouths are full of lies; they swear to tell the truth, but they lie instead. May our sons flourish in their youth like well-nurtured plants. May our daughters be like graceful pillars, carved to beautify a palace. May our barns be filled with crops of every kind. May the flocks in our fields multiply by the thousands, even tens of thousands, and may our oxen be loaded down with produce. May there be no enemy breaking through our walls, no going into captivity, no cries of alarm in our town squares. Yes, joyful are those who live like this! Joyful indeed are those whose God is the L ord . (Psalms 144:11-15 NLT)

Psalms 51:1, 2

Have mercy on me, O God, because of your unfailing love. Because of your great compassion, blot out the stain of my sins. Wash me clean from my guilt. Purify me from my sin. (Psalms 51:1, 2 NLT)

Psalms 139:1-7, 23, 24

O L ord , you have examined my heart and know everything about me. You know when I sit down or stand up. You know my thoughts even when I’m far away. You see me when I travel and when I rest at home. You know everything I do. You know what I am going to say even before I say it, L ord . You go before me and follow me. You place your hand of blessing on my head. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too great for me to understand! I can never escape from your Spirit! I can never get away from your presence! Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. Point out anything in me that offends you, and lead me along the path of everlasting life. (Psalms 139:1-7, 23, 24 NLT)

But the king will rejoice in God. All who trust in him will praise him, while liars will be silenced. (Psalms 63:11 NLT)

Isaiah 7:7-9

But this is what the Sovereign L ord  says: “This invasion will never happen; it will never take place; for Syria is no stronger than its capital, Damascus, and Damascus is no stronger than its king, Rezin. As for Israel, within sixty-five years it will be crushed and completely destroyed. Israel is no stronger than its capital, Samaria, and Samaria is no stronger than its king, Pekah son of Remaliah. Unless your faith is firm, I cannot make you stand firm.” (Isaiah 7:7-9 NLT)

Lamentations 3:31-33

For no one is abandoned by the Lord forever. Though he brings grief, he also shows compassion because of the greatness of his unfailing love. For he does not enjoy hurting people or causing them sorrow. (Lamentations 3:31-33 NLT)

Joshua 2:8-11

Before the spies went to sleep that night, Rahab went up on the roof to talk with them.  “I know the L ord  has given you this land,” she told them. “We are all afraid of you. Everyone in the land is living in terror.  For we have heard how the L ord  made a dry path for you through the Red Sea  when you left Egypt. And we know what you did to Sihon and Og, the two Amorite kings east of the Jordan River, whose people you completely destroyed.    No wonder our hearts have melted in fear! No one has the courage to fight after hearing such things. For the L ord  your God is the supreme God of the heavens above and the earth below. (Joshua 2:8-11 NLT)

Luke 18:8, 18-30

I tell you, he will grant justice to them quickly! But when the Son of Man  returns, how many will he find on the earth who have faith?” Once a religious leader asked Jesus this question: “Good Teacher, what should I do to inherit eternal life?” “Why do you call me good?”  Jesus asked him.  “Only God is truly good.    But to answer your question, you know the commandments: ‘You must not commit adultery. You must not murder. You must not steal. You must not testify falsely. Honor your father and mother.’ ” The man replied, “I’ve obeyed all these commandments since I was young.” When Jesus heard his answer, he said,  “There is still one thing you haven’t done. Sell all your possessions and give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.” But when the man heard this he became very sad, for he was very rich. When Jesus saw this,  he said,  “How hard it is for the rich to enter the Kingdom of God!    In fact, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter the Kingdom of God!” Those who heard this said, “Then who in the world can be saved?” He replied,  “What is impossible for people is possible with God.” Peter said, “We’ve left our homes to follow you.” “Yes,”  Jesus replied,  “and I assure you that everyone who has given up house or wife or brothers or parents or children, for the sake of the Kingdom of God,    will be repaid many times over in this life, and will have eternal life in the world to come.” (Luke 18:8, 18-30 NLT)

Psalms 126:5, 6

Those who plant in tears will harvest with shouts of joy. They weep as they go to plant their seed, but they sing as they return with the harvest. (Psalms 126:5, 6 NLT)

Psalms 121:1-8

I look up to the mountains— does my help come from there? My help comes from the L ord , who made heaven and earth! He will not let you stumble; the one who watches over you will not slumber. Indeed, he who watches over Israel never slumbers or sleeps. The L ord  himself watches over you! The L ord  stands beside you as your protective shade. The sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon at night. The L ord  keeps you from all harm and watches over your life. The L ord  keeps watch over you as you come and go, both now and forever. (Psalms 121:1-8 NLT)

Deuteronomy 28:1-7, 11-13

“If you fully obey the L ord  your God and carefully keep all his commands that I am giving you today, the L ord  your God will set you high above all the nations of the world.  You will experience all these blessings if you obey the L ord  your God: Your towns and your fields will be blessed. Your children and your crops will be blessed. The offspring of your herds and flocks will be blessed. Your fruit baskets and breadboards will be blessed. Wherever you go and whatever you do, you will be blessed. “The L ord  will conquer your enemies when they attack you. They will attack you from one direction, but they will scatter from you in seven! “The L ord  will give you prosperity in the land he swore to your ancestors to give you, blessing you with many children, numerous livestock, and abundant crops.  The L ord  will send rain at the proper time from his rich treasury in the heavens and will bless all the work you do. You will lend to many nations, but you will never need to borrow from them.  If you listen to these commands of the L ord  your God that I am giving you today, and if you carefully obey them, the L ord  will make you the head and not the tail, and you will always be on top and never at the bottom. (Deuteronomy 28:1-7, 11-13 NLT)

Psalms 119:1-8, 176

Joyful are people of integrity, who follow the instructions of the L ord . Joyful are those who obey his laws and search for him with all their hearts. They do not compromise with evil, and they walk only in his paths. You have charged us to keep your commandments carefully. Oh, that my actions would consistently reflect your decrees! Then I will not be ashamed when I compare my life with your commands. As I learn your righteous regulations, I will thank you by living as I should! I will obey your decrees. Please don’t give up on me! I have wandered away like a lost sheep; come and find me, for I have not forgotten your commands. (Psalms 119:1-8, 176 NLT)

Psalms 118:16-19

The strong right arm of the L ord  is raised in triumph. The strong right arm of the L ord  has done glorious things! I will not die; instead, I will live to tell what the L ord  has done. The L ord  has punished me severely, but he did not let me die. Open for me the gates where the righteous enter, and I will go in and thank the L ord . (Psalms 118:16-19 NLT)

Luke 11:5-10

Then, teaching them more about prayer, he used this story:  “Suppose you went to a friend’s house at midnight, wanting to borrow three loaves of bread. You say to him,    ‘A friend of mine has just arrived for a visit, and I have nothing for him to eat.’    And suppose he calls out from his bedroom, ‘Don’t bother me. The door is locked for the night, and my family and I are all in bed. I can’t help you.’    But I tell you this—though he won’t do it for friendship’s sake, if you keep knocking long enough, he will get up and give you whatever you need because of your shameless persistence. “And so I tell you, keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you.    For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened. (Luke 11:5-10 NLT)

Psalms 116:1, 2, 5-7

I love the L ord  because he hears my voice and my prayer for mercy. Because he bends down to listen, I will pray as long as I have breath! How kind the L ord  is! How good he is! So merciful, this God of ours! The L ord  protects those of childlike faith; I was facing death, and he saved me. Let my soul be at rest again, for the L ord  has been good to me. (Psalms 116:1, 2, 5-7 NLT)

Deuteronomy 23:3-5

“No Ammonite or Moabite or any of their descendants for ten generations may be admitted to the assembly of the L ord .  These nations did not welcome you with food and water when you came out of Egypt. Instead, they hired Balaam son of Beor from Pethor in distant Aram-naharaim to curse you.  But the L ord  your God refused to listen to Balaam. He turned the intended curse into a blessing because the L ord  your God loves you. (Deuteronomy 23:3-5 NLT)

Colossians 3:13

Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others. (Colossians 3:13 NLT)
